BeverlyHillsAdjacentRealty

Beverly Hills Adjacent Realty

I always knew the Real Estate market was funny but after working as Creative Director for a big firm, I couldn’t help but poke fun at some of the things I had learned .

The show is not, in any way, based on my employments, but rather is a mocking of some of the extreme behaviors I saw across the different companies and Realtors who passed through my life after I started working in the marketing aspect of the business.

This was done in a bit a rushed manner…I have a fully written, fleshed out pilot that I hope to have time to do right one day.   Until then – back to work I suppose.

Broke and Lonely – episode 3

Created out of boredom by myself and my good friend Corey Wish.  This show ended up airing on G4tv.  Phillup’s voice may sound familiar to you if you’ve seen the Jon and Michael show – it’s my brother with a slight mid-eastern accent.  My Dad is Israeli and usually serves as inspiration for much of my work in comedy.  He’s not always a funny guy, but sometimes even losing his temper can get hysterical.

If you like this you can watch all 4 mini-episodes at the main website: Brokeandlonely.com

My Date with a Magician

This is really more of a screen test than a short.  I just happened to edit it with my friend Jeff Coatney – a great voice actor and artist in his own right.  Tamar Feinkind stars in this little screen test – check out her website for more of her stuff: Tamar Feinkind

My little brother Daniel was playing opposite her.  He was about 10 at the time and has since lost almost all of his baby fat – way to go Daniel!

TheJonAndMichaelShow

The Jon & Michael Show

This was the original short that prompted the Mtv Pilot.  Sadly the show never got picked up.  It was changed quite a bit after Mtv contracted the pilot but I’m not complaining – the process was fun and the most rewarding thing was to be able to do something with my brother Michael.

Background on the idea:

I was living at home with my younger brother who was 16 at the time.  He started talking like this after seeing Napolean Dynamite.  My mom hated the Napolean Dynamite voice because it was too rude and aggressive so my brother started putting a happy stoner spin on the voice, dropped it an octave and suddenly it caught on.  Pretty soon his whole school (even the teachers) were talking like him.  I was writing a lot more than animating at the time and he and I would but heads because I wasn’t being positive enough so…this show was born.

Jon Dabach - Shrinks website

Shrinks

While working in the animation circles I was asked occasionally to create show websites. These portals acted as outlets to purchase merchandise for the show, view clips or sometimes entire episodes of the animated series, and usually provide some kind of content fans could only access on the website often known as “exclusive web content.”

Shrinks was an interesting show that never fully got off the ground.  It was a comedy about the world’s most horrific therapists.  Lots of laughs but the audience wasn’t quite broad enough to garner a fan base I suppose.  Still fun working on the website though and hope that somehow the show may make a comeback.

Coffee Cups - Jon Dabach Design

Coffee Cups

Perky Bean is a fun coffee shop up in Northern California. In truth, I’ve never actually been there but I’ve seen some of the pictures and it looks like one of those fun, cozy places that people like to linger at while they sip their espresso.

A former client of mine thought I’d be the right guy to redesign some of their coffee cups and below is the result.  They really didn’t have much of a design brief they just wanted it fun and a little edgy.  I’m happy to say everyone was pleased with the results.

Michael’s All Natural Cereal Bar

This all natural cereal bar was quite a simple design brief. They wanted it to feel organic, and fun and evoke a Trader Joe’s type of identity.

Taste Mountain Chip Design | Jon Dabach Packaging

Taste Mountain Chips

This was a spec project for a company that never quite got off the ground. They were going to specialize in gourmet snacks for the 20-something crowd. They wanted the pictures of the food to really speak and still appeal to the web 2.0 crowd.
